Hay Inventory

A necessity of a profitable hay enterprise is knowing the current status of your hay inventory and having the ability to sell hay with a fast and efficient sales documentation and inventory updating system. This is what the AgSys Hay Inventory App does.

Overview

Agriculture is becoming hi tech: self driving equipment, drones, gps. etc. Most of the focus on hi tech agriculture has been on the equipment,  materials and genetics areas. AgSys was founded to provide state of the art solutions to management activities. For the last 15 years Russell Gum and Del Wakimoto (founders of AsSys) have collaborated on creating a user friendly system to provide managers up to date information on hay inventory and sales, material inventory, weather,  irrigation scheduling, crop growth status, crop budgets, equipment inventory and maintenance, custom work, and chemical application records. The system started out as a Palm Pilot to Excel system which proved completely unworkable. The system was rewritten as a web based application which included a map interface for fields and hay yards. Now we are migrating to a iPhone and or iPad based system, due to the reliability and security of the Apple system.

Cotton Crop Growth

With a few simple entries, this app gives the user a detailed look at how weather or more specifically heat units affects the progress of the cotton crop for a each of their fields on a daily basis. The app uses daily information from AZMET weather stations to daily calculate accumulated heat units on a field by field basis. This information is then used in a model based on University of Arizona research to predict the stage of growth of the crop.  In addition to field by field updates on the growth of their crop, information on heat stress is provided on a daily basis. A 30 day summary of the heat units for growth, soil temperature, and heat stress is provided as well.

Growers and crop protection specialists can utilize the information for management decisions to provide support for management decisions involving insect control, crop growth management, defoliation timing, and irrigation timing. A notes feature is provided to allow notes to be kept on a each field.

Ginners , and brokers/merchants will be able to follow the progress of the cotton crop for the fields they are providing services, using real time data.

The app requires an auto renewing subscription “Monthly Subscription” and has a two week free trial period to allow you to test out its features. After the free trial period, unless you cancel your subscription, your iTunes account will be charged  $14.99 US or equivalent at the start of the monthly subscription. If you want to cancel your subscription be sure to due so 24 hours before the next billing period starts.  Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user’s Account Settings after purchase.

Hay Inventory

A necessity of a profitable hay enterprise is knowing the current status of your hay inventory and having the ability to sell hay with a fast and efficient sales documentation and inventory updating system. This is what the AgSys Hay Inventory App does.

All inventory and sales information is kept on your iPhone or iPad with email notifications to your customers and office as necessary to document sales.

The app is designed with emphasis of ease of use an efficiency (think selling a truckload of hay to a customer while in the field showing them the hay and having the order emailed, and your inventory available for sale adjusted before you can get back into your pickup). No spreadsheets to deal with, no yellow pads that get lost on your dashboard, no handwritten invoices that fade in the sun. Just an updated inventory in your iPhone or iPad and an email to  document the transaction with copies to both your office and the customer.
